"This is one of the smaller road engines in service on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railways Systems; commonly referred to as the Santa Fe Line. This locomotive is quite typical in design of many Atlantics seen on other railroad lines besides the Santa Fe. Locomotives in service on the Santa Fe are numbered 1483 to 1498. Built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1910. The model is quite powerful for a small road engine and is capable of pulling 15 to 20 cars depending on the make and weight. Small road engines of this type are usually used however for short runs of short trains of four to a dozen cars. The model can easily take an 18" radius curve."
