IHCM9859 Wabash Class F-1 4-6-2 Semi-Streamlined Heavy Pacific Locomotive #675

The Wabash Class "J-1" (more about that later) Pacifics were built in 1912. Engines 660-669 were built by Richmond and 670-675 were built by Baldwin. They were the last Wabash passenger locomotives to be built. Yeah, I said Class "J-1", not "F-1" which adorns the cab of this beautiful 4-6-2. I've gone on before about the poetic license employed by many vintage model locomotive manufacturers. This being said, the close-but-no-cigar numbering AND the never ever existed semi-streamlining are further examples of this common practice. Still, this is a spectacularly beautiful and great running locomotive in stunning mint condition. All things considered, I bet you Wabash fans out there can live with a fanciful bit of historical inaccuracy. N'est ce pas?
