IHC M531 Southern 2-6-0 Mogul Locomotive

The first North American example of this type of locomotive was built for the Louisiana & Nashville Railroad in 1864. At the time it was the largest locomotive built and got its name from the Mohammedan Empire (India). 1866 and later versions of the 2-6-0 Mogul were the first locomotives to use the radially turning two-wheel front bogie truck.

Sadly, the Southern never rostered a single Mogul. Still a gorgeous locomotive at a great price though.
