IHC 23711 Great Northern Class C-1 0-8-0 Switcher #810

Hard working yard switchers were rostered by nearly every US rail line. Never as glamorous or beautiful as the big passenger greyhounds they have their own charm and are a must have for any collection or working model railroad.

In 1918 Baldwin delivered 40 eight-wheel switchers that were larger than the contemporary USRA 0-8-0. The C-1 Class, numbered 810-849, were GN's top-rank switchers, and they outlasted successive classes of 0-8-0s which were created by removing the lead trucks from 2-8-0s.
