FACTORY SEALED AHM 7209 Indiana Harbor Belt 0-8-0 Switcher Kit O Scale
For a very short period of time in the 1970's AHM offered an incredible series of O Scale Locomotive and companion Motorizing Kits. Built by Rivarossi, these were the most highly detailed precise 1/4" scale Locomotive Kits yet produced. The flag ship of this series was a replica of the legendary Alco Indiana Harbor Belt 0-8-0 Switchers, arguably the highest technology and most unique steam switchers ever built.
The Alco Brooks Works built three monster 0-8-0 switchers for the New York Central owned Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad. The engines were an advanced three-cylinder design with limited cut-off and featured a highly unique booster drive on the Tender front truck. The engines were designated Class U-4A and numbered 100-102. This museum quality AHM 7209-2498 Indiana Harbor Belt 0-8-0 Switcher and Tender Model Kit is a reproduction of the #102 prototype built in February 1927.
