Custom Modified to Prototype IHCM9852 D&H 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive #607

It's true. The Delaware and Hudson DID have a 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive #607. It was not, however, like the original stock IHCM9852 pictured below, a Semi-Streamliner.

In reality, the prototype #607 really was a very unique 4-6-2 featuring signature smoke deflecting "Elephant Ears."

OK, so IHC had molding for 4-6-2 Semi-Sreamliners and the D&H did have a 4-6-2 #607 so, as was often the case not only with IHC, but with many vintage model train manufacturers, convenience won over accuracy. Not good enough for me this time. I removed the stock IHC semi-streamlining, fabricated custom side number boards and added accurate custom "Elephant Ears". The result, though not perfect (the Sand Domes aren't quite right.), is a much-more-nearly-prototypically-correct, totally unique, supremely cool one-of-a-kind D&H 4-6-2 Pacific #607. Don't let this one get away.
