IHCM9855 NYC "Mercury" Semi-Streamlined Heavy Pacific Locomotive #6515

I've gone on before about the poetic license employed by many vintage model locomotive manufacturers but this one is uniquely fanciful. The actual, FULLY streamlined NYC "Mercury" was one of most advanced, and last, passenger locomotives produced for the NYC. This being said, though the road# is correct, the never ever existed semi-streamlining is a further example of this common practice. Finally, as reflected by the bargain price, the snap-on semi-streamlined panels were damaged in shipping. They are repaired as well as possible, included and easily installed if you wish. The loco itself is in near mint condition and remains a spectacularly beautiful and great running locomotive at a great price. All things considered, I bet you NYC fans out there can live with a fanciful bit of historical inaccuracy.
