Excerpt from AHM5018 Instructions:
"The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company put into service back in 1912 four shunting locos to be used in the industrial zone of the Baltimore port. All of them were originally Tank locos and were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Co. In 1926 two of them were converted to coal burners. To these two locos a tender was added for the water and coal supply. The other two locos as originally made in 1912 bear the service numbers 97 and 98 and are accurately reproduced by this model."
The original four C16 Switchers were the last steam powered locos built for the B&O.
Our 5018 "Little Joe" is the top of the line series of this model and features full Walschaerts Valve Gear. (The 5017 Series included side rods only.)
