Initially designed to serve the Comstock Lode silver boom in post Civil War Nevada, construction of the legendary Virginia & Truckee Railroad began in 1869. Our magnificent MRRHQ Custom Limited Edition AHM/Roundhouse 1860s V&T Overton Passenger Train hearkens back to those rough and tumble times in the mining towns of the truly wild west.
A note on the AHM/Pocher versions of the great 4-4-0 "American" Locomotive:
The 4-4-0 Americans offered by AHM were built by Rivarossi and by Pocher for Rivarossi from nearly identical tooling. The main differences, other than road name designations, were primarily in the level of detail. The 4-4-0s from AHM/Pocher are not only the rarest but featured the very highest level of detail, most brass fittings and were the only ones which came standard with an operating headlamp.

The Coaches
MDC/Roundhouse Trains began as "The Roundhouse" in 1938 and, then, as Roundhouse Trains and, later, as MDC/Roundhouse. For nearly 70 years Roundhouse was one of the great names in model railroading. The beautiful coaches included in this set were meticulously assembled and upgraded by MRRHQ from New Old Stock Roundhouse kits that have been discontinued for over 30 years.
