Product Details
Strates Shows Inc. is the only remaining railroad carnival still traveling in the US today. The Orlando, Florida based carnival company uses a 61 car train to transport the show's employees up and down the Eastern Seaboard. In one season alone the train will visit 16 different locations and cover more than 6,500 miles. While other carnivals have opted for highway transportation, Strates Shows still maintains their railroad mode of travel. The brightly colored train is over a mile long and consists of 50 flat cars, 10 passenger/baggage cars and a caboose. Our MRCHQ Collectible IHC HO Scale James E. Strates Shows 4 Car Passenger Set w/SD-24 Locomotive is a beautiful recreation of this train in miniature.
HO Scale 1:87 Discontinued: New, mint condition in original box.
A note on SD24 Locomotives:
The first six-axle EMD SD24 rolled off the assembly line in July of 1958 at the General Motors Electro-Motive Division (EMD) in LaGrange, Illinois. The SD24 was the first EMD production locomotive to be built with a turbocharged diesel engine. Producing a then massive 2400 HP it was revolutionary for it's time. Our MRCHQ Collectible IHC EMD SD24 James E. Strates Shows Diesel Locomotive is a highly detailed and faithful veplica of the original.
